Delete your Relay account

You can delete your Relay account and everything in it, permanently. This page explains how, and exists so you can do it without installing the app — which is both a Google Play requirement and simply the right way round.

Export first, if you want to keep anything

Deletion is immediate and irreversible. There is no trash and no recovery window, and we cannot restore an account afterwards.

In Relay, go to Account → Export my data to download a machine-readable copy first. This works even if your subscription has lapsed.

Your files need downloading separately. The export lists them as links, and deleting your account deletes the files those links point at, so the links stop working. Save anything you want to keep before you delete.

In the app

The quickest route, if you can still sign in:

• Open Relay and sign in
• Tap your avatar → Account
• Choose Delete account
• Type DELETE to confirm

Deletion happens straight away.

By email

If you cannot sign in, or would rather we did it, email support@relaygtd.com from the address on your Relay account, with the subject Delete my Relay account.

We will confirm we have received it, delete the account, and confirm again when it is done — within 30 days, and in practice far sooner. We may need to check you own the address before acting, because otherwise anyone could ask us to delete anyone's account.

What gets deleted

Everything. Specifically:

• every task, project, reference item and horizon, with all their notes, dates and checklists;
• every file you uploaded, dropped, shared or emailed in;
• your workspaces, contexts, contacts and trigger lists;
• your settings and review history;
• your private capture address, so email sent to it afterwards goes nowhere;
• your notification tokens and your subscription record held by Relay;
• your sign-in itself, so the account no longer exists.

Access tokens for any service you connected — Google Calendar, Google Tasks, Todoist, Notion, Linear — are deleted and revoked at the provider, so Relay's access is withdrawn at their end too, not merely forgotten at ours.

What is not affected

• Data in other services. Deleting your Relay account does not delete anything in Google Calendar, Google Tasks, Todoist, Notion or Linear. Those are yours and stay where they are.
• Your Google account. Relay only used it to sign you in.
• Your subscription, if bought through a store. Deleting your Relay account does not cancel a Google Play or Apple subscription — you must cancel that in the store itself, or it will keep billing. See Subscription Terms. Cancel first, then delete.
• Backups and legal records. Residual copies may persist briefly in encrypted infrastructure backups before rotating out. We may also keep the minimum records we are legally required to, such as payment records for tax purposes, which do not include your content.

Just want to stop paying?

You do not have to delete anything. Cancel the subscription and your data stays put — you can still sign in, read it, and export it, and picking it up again later works. See Subscription Terms.
